Below is our simple 5-step Mac trade-in process. At MacFinder, we will always keep you updated on the status of your trade-in - ensuring transparency throughout the entire process.
Step 1
Find Your Serial Number
Using your Mac’s serial number, we can determine your device’s specification, model and year of release. The process is similar to entering your car’s registration number on a car trade-in service.
Step 2
Condition, Collection & Payment Forms
Does your device contain upgraded internal components from Apple? We will offer you a better price than any of our competitors! We offer the only trade-in service which takes your device’s specification into account when quoting a price.
Your device’s specification and model aren’t the only things that can change your device’s overall value – we also check all Macs for their physical condition, which we grade as A, B or C. By checking all components, we can provide you with a more accurate and reliable quoted value. A hairline scratch won’t affect the final value as much as a cracked screen.
Step 3
We Collect From You
Once you’ve accepted our quoted offer, we will begin the process of collecting your device. We require your collection date to be five days in advance of our offer as this allows time for your collection pack to arrive and allows you time to prepare and pack your device.
When your collection day comes around, DPD will collect your device at an arranged time and will provide you with a pre-paid shipping label, which they will apply to your box. Your device will arrive with us the next day.
Step 4
Checking & Testing
When your device has arrived at MacFinder, It’ll be handed to our inspection team who will analyse your device, ensuring it is functioning properly and the condition matches your original quote. The inspection process includes a wide range of checks, from checking physical condition as well as device functionality.
Step 5
Payment
When your device has passed our internal inspection process, the quoted payment will be sent to you. Our finance team offers a selection of payment options to choose from, which they will deposit into your preferred payment account.
Alternatively, if you were planning on exchanging your Mac for one of our stocked devices, your in-store credit will be applied to your account.
