      Try to follow this process

      http://dosdude1.com/highsierra/

Be careful as I had to go through this process:

      1. take out my GTX 970 and use only the GT 120 I have
      2. boot with the new OS 10.13 (dosdude process)
      3. install the new CUDA drivers (use the 380.10.10.10.40.135 version)
      4. in drivers management / graphics drivers use NVIDIA web driver
      5. shut down and re-boot with the GTX 970 in

I don’t know which GPU you are using but I struggled to get this 10.13 version because of CUDA support from apple.

On my 2012 5,1 MacPro I used dosdude1’s software to download and install Catalina (OS 10.15) and have my OS updated to 10.15.7. Here is the link.

      http://dosdude1.com/catalina/

I have attached a screen shot showing what OS is currently running on my Mac… everything has been running okay since upgrading my Mac from Mojave.
