      Greetings!

New here. I am setting up Pro Tools HDX on a 2009 Mac Pro flashed to 5,1. The HDX card takes up one PCIe slot, and one of the mini 6 pin power ports on the motherboard. I have an AMD Radeon 7970 3GB (supposedly) pre-flashed for Mac, metal compatible, so I can upgrade to Mojave. Went to install the new GPU today and I find that the graphic card has two power cables, one 6 pin and one 8 pin, that each require a mini 6 pin PCIe port on the Mac. Is there a workaround? An adapter I can get? Mike Thornton describes this scenario on Pro Tools Expert, but no in enough detail so I know what he did.

Any tips would be appreciated, and with as much detail as possible! Thanks in advance – Steve

      Hi.

Do you require the use of your optical drives? If not we have a custom cable that can be paired with a six pin to power your GPU leaving a six pin free for HDX.
