This is great news for the Mac Pro 5,1 community as we will now be able to install the Nvidia 1080, 1080Ti and TITAN cards maximising your performance.

Speaking of users, we’re also making the new TITAN Xp open to the Mac community with new Pascal drivers, coming this month. For the first time, this gives Mac users access to the immense horsepower delivered by our award-winning Pascal-powered GPUs.

  1. Yes! Great News!
But since a GPU on Mac Pro can receive 75W (6pin) + 75W (6pin) + 75W (PCI Connector) = 225W, how can a GPU like 1080ti or Titan (250W) work on the Mac Pro 5.1 without external power supply? Do we need one for this cards?
